Smile for the Camera
Classmate Samantha Castronovo is a professional photographer and has volunteered to take pictures at the reunion. For a s pecial project, she is working on, please email current photos of yourself (and you with others significant to you.) to Samantha Castronovo. Please include your phone number and e-mail address with the pictures. Send 1 to 5 pictures, no more. She'll need at least 1 picture from each alumni attending. Even if you don't plan to attend, please include your photo. So dress up and show off your smile! Or be casual. Just get some pictures in. If you have additional questions you can call her directly at 702-574-9059. At the reunion she will also photograph traditional formal portraits as you arrive. Each alumni will receive a complimentary portrait! (Photos will also appear in the reunion yearbook being created from the reunion weekend). Thank you Samantha!Hey, Cry Babies
We are offering babysitting services at Jackie's house supervised by her mom the night of the reunion. Jackie's house is within walking distanc e from the club if you want to check on your little ones. We are still working on the price depending on how many kids there are but estimate $5 per hour, per family. Contact Jackie for more information.Where Are My Tickets?!
A few of you have asked if tickets will be sent out in advance. No, reunion tickets are not going to be shipped to anyone. If you've bought tickets, we will have your name at the door and hand you your name badge when you check in. Please send Jackie an e-mail with the names of your guests so they will also have a name badge prepared.Good Eats
Mmmm! Bring your appetite to the reunion! We will have plenty of delicious food that will be served from 5 pm to 9pm at several separate stations throughout the club. Some will be passed throughout the event by our fine catering staff. The food will be tapas/appetizer for a more casual party atmosphere and giving you time to chat and catch up with classmates. The menu was posted in our April email, available on our website on the event details page.Rock the Mic
We're all looking forward to classmate Jason Matsuoka and his band playing 80s hits from 5pm to 7pm. We will also have an exciting surprise performance from another classmate later in the evening that you will not want to miss. Who could it be? Be there to find out. What? I Didn't Know About That!
If you're new to the site and have not received our previous monthly e-mails, be sure to read up on all the updates over the past several months. Visit the event details page and scroll through all the info. Of course, there's also lots of great info in the forums.Deadlines, Deadlines!!!
The deadline to fill out an About You form is July 14th. If you do not fill out this form your information will not be in our reunion address book. Please fill out the form even if you are not planning on attending the reunion weekend. With the information on the form we can find you for our next reunion and contact you with post-reunion news. You can choose not to have your info printed in the address book but we will at least have it on file for future use.The deadline to purchase tickets is July 23rd. No tickets will be sold at the door so if you plan on just showing up you will be unfortunately turned away. We budgeted precisely and the caterer needs final numbers two days before the event.
Donations for Raffle We are still looking for donations for the raffle. If you have friends, family, employers who are willing to donate a gift certificate, or items for our raffle, all proceeds are going to the Alameda Hornet Booste rs. We have a Tax ID # so donations can be tax deductible. If you need any more information on this please contact Jackie.
And finally, remember to bring your digital cameras (and your USB cables) to download your pics on the spot to our computer at the end of the night. We have some great surprise gifts for all of you that attend the event. If you have lost your yearbook, you will not want to miss out on this gift.
From all of us on the reunion committee, we want to say THANK YOU for signing up and we look forward to seeing you very soon. A 20-year reunion only rolls around once in a lifetime. we've been working hard behind the scenes to make it a memorable event. And now, we're ready to PAR-TAY!
Regards,
The Reunion Committee
Email Update, June 5:
Hi Classmates,There are 7 weeks remaining until our 20 year high school reunion! Here is some extra motivation to buy your reunion event tickets before the price goes up.
Get Excited!
The reunion is going to be a great party with cool gifts that you do not want to miss out on. The food, entertainment, decor and atmosphere you are going to be something you will not forget.
We have located approximately 135 classmates so far. Time is running out so please make contact with those classmates that have not signed up on the website and filled in an "About You" form.
Website and Forum
We know many classmates are looking at the website but are not filling out the "About You" form. If you do not fill in this form we will not have your info for our class address book or be able to contact you for future reunions. Even if you do not plan on attending please fill in the "About You" form by July 14th 2008 at 8am so our address book can be as complete as possible.
Our forum is a great way to interact with former classmates and friends. Please take the time to make a post or respond to your classmates. Everyone's got som'n to say...so get out there and say it! We can't wait to hear from you.
Photos
Bring your digital camera and USB cable to the reunion weekend events. Keith Koo has volunteered to bring his laptop to the events to download all the photos so everyone will be able to get copies of everyone else's photos. We will decide at a later date how to distribute them (maybe Photobucket or CD).
Volunteers
We still need some volunteers to help set up and clean up before and after the event on Saturday, July 26th. We have gotten some volunteers for the Sunday picnic organization, big thanks to Jennifer Bryant and Liz Brown for stepping up. We will have more details on the picnic in the next reunion e-mail.
Teachers
All AHS teachers from our graduating year 1988 have been invited to the reunion and to check out the website. We will keep you all posted if we hear anything from any of the teachers. There were 75 teachers from 1988. Sadly, 4 have passed away and they are Ruth Romero-Avila, Norma Fischer, Sally Gallagher, and Casandra Coates. All 71 others have been notified of the reunion.
Other
The Friday night at Magee's is an informal no-host pre-party get together. The reunion committee is not planning anything this night. Magee's regular customers will be there as well as a few AHS '88 classmates.
As a reminder, on June 16, the ticket price goes up to $90.00 per person, that's only 10 more days. The last day to purchase reunion event tickets will be July 20th. Don't wait until the last minute because space is limited and tickets are selling quickly. We will not be able to sell tickets at the door the night of the event.
As always, we look forward to seeing you there!
Email Update, April 23:
Hello Hornets,There are only 94 days until our reunion, and still so much more to do!!
- The reunion committee is excited and ready to see everyone at the reunion and at the other reunion events. We have 115 classmates who have made contact on our website; this is great but still have to find about 250 more classmates and running out of time. There are many interesting and funny post on the forum from our classmates and they are looking forward to hearing from you. Details are coming together nicely; it's going to be a really fun party you don't want to miss.
- Here are some updates we’d like to inform you about:
VOLUNTEERS
We'd love to have more help so please let us know if you're available. Even if it's just for a few hours. Here are some areas where we definitely need some assistance:

- Clean up crew for Saturday (12:00am to 1:00am)

TICKETS
Tickets for the reunion are on sale! You can purchase them by either GOOGLE check out or by sending a personal check. All the information is on the front page of the website (2nd tab on the top). Don't wait to long to buy a ticket. We have limited space and the ticket price goes up to $90 on June 16, 2008. Unfortunately, we won't be able to sell any tickets at the door. Please help us out by buying your tickets on the website or by mail, in advance.
MISSING CLASSMATES
Many classmates are still missing and we need everyone's help in finding them. Many people have said that they are still in touch with a lot of classmates that haven't made it to the website yet. Please, remind them to either sign up for the website and start catching up with old friends or to purchase tickets. The more classmates we have the better the party!
For those of you who have checked out the website but not filled out an "about you" profile form on the home page you may miss out on important reunion info. The form only takes a minute or two to fill out and let's us know which of the reunion events you plan to attend. If we have your address, we will send you a formal invitation. And we will make your info available to everyone in a classmates address book (you may opt out of this on the form) This information will be kept safe and secure by one reunion committee member to be used for future reunions.
PHOTOS
We still need your high school photos. Jen Stahl is waiting for more photos for the CD she is working on. The CD will be shown at the event on Saturday and made available during or after the event for a small fee. After the reunion a different photo CD will be available of the reunion weekend festivities. Info about this CD will be posted on the website.
THE MAIN EVENT, SATURDAY

If anyone wants to say a few words you are more than welcome. Jen Stahl is going to be giving our "reunion speech."
RAFFLE
We will have a raffle at the Saturday reunion! If anyone is able to donate any sort of gift certificates, tickets, items etc. please let Jackie know ASAP. We have a formal donation letter available if you need a tax ID number for you or your business to claim the deduction.
